Pale wooden planks converge toward two chairs at the end of a dock, framed by weathered pilings with dark pointed caps. Red and white bands and a bright yellow seat punctuate the broad blue surroundings, while gentle ripples soften the posts’ reflections.
The story
I stopped before reaching the chairs, drawn to the way the dock gathered the scene into a single path. The posts stood in uneven pairs, their dark caps sharp against the pale sky. Beyond them, the yellow chair offered a small, cheerful interruption to all that blue. I framed the empty boards in front of me, leaving room for the slow walk out and the possibility of staying a while.
