The story

From the balcony, I watched the sky deepen while the buildings began to glow from within. A thin warmth remained along the horizon, just enough to separate the distant skyline from the evening blue. Below, the bridge crossed the water in a steady line, and reflections gathered beneath the towers. I framed the city between the balcony edges, drawn to that brief balance when daylight and electric light seemed equally present.
