A Flock Of Color

About this piece
Swan-shaped ceramic vessels gather on a turquoise wooden table, their curved necks rising above densely painted floral bodies. Strong sunlight catches the glossy surfaces and casts crisp shadows, while a shallow depth of field softens the surrounding pottery and trees. The largest bird anchors a composition animated by repeated curves and saturated reds, greens, and blues.
The story
On this March day, sunlight settles into the white interiors of the ceramic birds. Their painted flowers crowd together, each petal edged against another patch of brilliant color. A tall green neck bends toward the table, repeating the smaller curves gathered beside it. Beyond this motionless flock, the outdoor display recedes into shade, and a pale path opens along its edge.
