About this piece
An iguana fills the frame in left-facing profile, its hanging dewlap and clawed forefoot sharply defined against dark foliage. Strong light reveals a mosaic of blue-gray, green, and gold scales, while orange dorsal spines rise above the body in a jagged rhythm. The close composition gives its stillness a sculptural weight.
The story
On this December day, light gathers along the iguana’s orange crest. One forefoot rests across pale, pitted stone, its curved claws casting small shadows. Behind the open eye, foliage recedes into deep green darkness. The year approaches its close, but here the scene holds to the scale of a single body, a bright ridge, a patch of light.
