Photographed close to deck level, the pier stretches between golden railings toward a small pavilion and distant figures. Receding lamps establish a measured rhythm beneath the expansive sky, while blurred birds interrupt the geometry with movement.
The story
I brought the camera close to the boards, letting the pier draw a path through the frame. From this low position, the railings seemed to gather the warm sky and carry it toward the little pavilion. People remained small in the distance, almost absorbed by the structure. Then birds crossed beside the lamps, their movement soft against the straight lines. I wanted to hold that contrast: a walkway built to stay, and wings already passing beyond it.
