Between Bay and Glow

A panoramic view of Miami gathers illuminated towers beneath a blue-violet twilight sky. Bands of gold, turquoise, and white extend across the water, while the rocky shoreline and dark foliage provide a textured counterpoint to the distant architecture.

The story

I framed the city from the rocky edge of the bay, leaving room for the water to carry its lights. Across the channel, windows gathered into bright grids, but their reflections loosened into shifting bands of color. I was drawn to that difference: the skyline precise and upright, the bay refusing to hold its shape. At the edge of the frame, stone and leaves kept the view anchored to the shore.
