The story

Late September finds the inlet divided between gold and blue. Waves fold along the beach and spread white foam across the dark rocks, while the water inside the channel holds the sky’s warm glow. Behind the lighthouse, palms gather around pale houses, their shapes small beneath the broad banks of cloud. The tower stands at the meeting of these waters, holding its slender outline as the light changes around it.
