The story

July light spreads across the water, turning the bay into a vast field of blue. Along the foreground ledge, golden scrub gathers between dark, angular stones. Far below, white ships appear small against the enclosing slopes. A motorboat draws a bright seam through the open water, its wake widening into fine lines. Beyond it, distant ridges rest beneath long bands of cloud.
