The story
On this November day, the water offers little sign of the turning calendar. Two figures hold their fishing rods above a platform, their reflections stretching beneath them in broken bands. Farther out, a paddle draws a thin disturbance across the pale blue surface. The empty boat remains close, its worn paint catching the light while ripples loosen the shape of its reflection.
