The story

Late November finds this shore full of green and gold. At the sand’s edge, the nearest palm holds its curve above a tangle of exposed roots, each strand catching a little light. Small waves fold onto the beach beneath the broad, cloud-streaked sky. Beyond them, distant land rests low on the horizon, and the eye settles into the space between.
