Two draped female statues and three fluted columns occupy a sunlit terrace overlooking deep blue water and steep, layered cliffs. Warm light gives the sculptural forms a honey-colored glow, while their long shadows cross the pale floor. The paired figures frame an open expanse of sea, punctuated by distant white ships.

The story

July light rests on the carved folds of two motionless figures. Their shadows stretch across the terrace, meeting the sharp geometry of the white railing. Beyond them, bands of darker blue ripple across the water beneath the cliffs. Small plants spill from a tipped pot and reach over the edges of rectangular planters. The ships seem almost weightless against the broad, luminous sea.
