A small green gecko leans over the upper edge of a densely layered pink-red flower head, its eye and gripping toes clearly visible. Bright light traces the pale margins of the bracts, while softly blurred foliage opens across the left side of the composition. The contrast between saturated bloom and watchful animal gives this close encounter an intimate stillness.
The story
Late November finds a small green presence among folds of pink and crimson. The gecko holds to the flower's edge, its head extending into the open green space. Light gathers along each pale rim, revealing a succession of curved shelters beneath its feet. For this moment, the whole scene seems to wait upon the animal's next movement.
