A Poise Of Flame

About this piece
A butterfly rests in profile on a broad green leaf, its upright wings patterned with orange, violet-black, and cream. Light reveals fine wing veins and a tightly coiled proboscis, while the diagonal leaf anchors the subject against softly blurred green and pink. The close composition gives this small, still presence a sculptural clarity.
The story
In this January moment, the frame holds a bright pocket of green. The butterfly grips the leaf with slender legs, its antennae reaching into the open space ahead. Orange glows beneath the dark sweep of its wings, and the curled proboscis draws a tiny circle beside its face. Beyond this precise little world, pink and green dissolve into softness.
