A Crown Above Sand

About this piece
A rooster stands prominently on pale beach sand, its red comb and golden neck feathers sharply defined against a softly blurred shoreline. Bright sunlight and palm shadows shape the foreground, while yellow kayaks and blue umbrellas echo the bird’s saturated coloring. The low viewpoint lends this small beach encounter an unexpected dignity.
The story
On this March day, sunlight catches the rooster’s golden feathers while palm shadows lie across the sand. Its feet settle into the grainy surface, and its open beak interrupts the stillness of its pose. Behind it, kayaks rest beneath the palms and blue umbrellas punctuate the pale shoreline. For a moment, the sea becomes a backdrop to this bright, watchful presence.
