A breaking wave fills the foreground with turquoise folds, white foam, and suspended spray. Dark rock formations and a distant mountain slope provide a still counterpoint to the water’s sweeping movement.
The story
I watched the water gather in front of the rocks, its blue deepening before the crest turned translucent green. For a moment, the wave held its shape, a ridge of light against the darker shore. I pressed the shutter as that ridge gave way. What drew me was the contrast: the spray scattering in every direction, the mountains remaining quiet beyond it, and the next swell already rising into the frame.
