Where Voyages Rest

About this piece
A weathered sailboat rests at a pronounced angle in shallow coastal water, its exposed lower hull dark against the golden reflections. Mangrove roots and foliage frame the left edge, while the mast draws a long diagonal across a sky grading from blue to amber. The contrast between the boat’s stillness and the finely rippled water gives the scene a quiet poignancy.
The story
On this first day of April, the low sun lays a golden path across the shallows. Beside the mangrove roots, the boat holds its tilted posture, bare rigging tracing fine lines through the sky. Small ripples gather beneath the stained hull and break its reflection into blue and gold. Along the exposed shore, wet stones and green growth catch the remaining light.
