A broad brick arch frames a turquoise sea and a level horizon beneath wisps of cloud. Golden light catches the rough vault, while shadow deepens the stepped masonry below; the dense architectural border gives way to an expansive, luminous center.
The story
At the beginning of January, the sea shines beyond the broken edges of the wall. Light gathers along the brick vault, drawing out each uneven course in ocher and gold. Below, small ripples scatter brightness across the turquoise water. The opening holds the horizon like a still line between the weight of masonry and the spaciousness of sky.
