Where The Light Holds

About this piece
A red-and-white lighthouse anchors a marina of mostly empty slips, with a sailboat at the left and palms beside the open-water horizon. Golden cloud light breaks into reflections across the rippled surface, contrasting with the tower’s cool white walls. A diagonal foreground dock and repeated vertical pilings give the expansive scene a measured, quiet rhythm.
The story
On this April evening, gold spreads through the clouds while blue still holds overhead. Between the empty slips, water gathers the sky into small, shifting fragments. Palm fronds lean in the breeze, and a sailboat’s mast draws a fine line above the docks. The lighthouse stands beyond the rows of pilings, its red bands a steady note amid the changing light.
