Where the Shore Turns

About this piece
An elevated panorama follows a sandy coastline past palms and waterfront towers toward a distant haze. Warm, low-angle light touches the buildings and beach, while separated sections of a pier draw a horizontal line across the blue water. Broad cloud patterns balance the curve of the shore, lending spaciousness to the densely built coast.
The story
On this October day, golden light settles along the waterfront while the open water holds its blue. Small ripples travel toward the sand in long, nearly parallel lines. The pier reaches across them, pauses at a gap, and resumes farther out. Beyond it, towers diminish into haze, and the shoreline carries the eye beyond the last distinct building.
