Where Gold Meets Wood

About this piece
A wooden pier with uneven boards and missing sections extends from the foreground toward a small roofed shelter, aligned with the sun’s golden reflection. A passing motorboat draws a horizontal wake across this central axis, while layered clouds and blue water frame the intense warmth of the low sun. The composition balances weathered structure, open distance, and quiet movement.
The story
On this October day, gold gathers along the edges of clouds and spills across the sea. Light shines through gaps in the pier, separating its dark boards into a broken rhythm. Beyond the small shelter, a motorboat travels across the water, leaving a narrow wake that slowly widens. The pier holds its line toward the horizon as ripples continually remake the reflected sun.
