Two handled terracotta jars punctuate an expanse of whitewashed architecture, their horizontal ridges contrasting with the rough plaster. Strong sunlight deepens the clay’s orange tones and casts a distinct shadow beside the foreground vessel. A sloping partition partly conceals the second jar, giving this spare, still composition a measured depth.
The story
Late July light settles across the clay, tracing each shallow ring around the vessels. The white walls return the brightness, their uneven surfaces gathering tiny pockets of shade. One jar stands fully in view; the other appears beyond the sloping plaster, an echo farther along the wall. The eye moves between them, then rests in the broad, pale foreground.
